The process of selecting a pool designer and contractor is often intimidating and sometimes a little complicated. To help guide you through the representations and reassurance that you will surely encounter in the selection process, please ask & verify all of the following:
- How long have the owners been in the swimming pool business, and how long at the same
location/name?
- Do they have public, builder's liability and worker's compensation insurance? Check coverage and limits.
- Do they have a current independent contractors licence in your city and in good standing?
- Do they have their own in house service department to provide warranty and service after the sale?
- Ask to visit pools in your price range and your neighborhood that they have recently built and completed.
- Ask for builder/realtor referrals and testimonials, and contact previous customers on their reference list.
- Are they members of the "Association of Pool & Spa Professionals", the "Greater San Antonio Area Builder's
Association", and have they received any recognition from peers in their industry?
- Check with the San Antonio Attorney General's Consumer Affairs office and the Better Business Bureau for
any complaints filed or actions pending.
- Have they been recognized by industry organizations/groups for outstanding service, design, construction,
customer and/or community services?
- Have they won any design or industry awards?
- Have they given you trade and customer reference lists?
- Do they have an outside, third party Quality Assurance Program to evaluate our performance following the
completion of your pool?
- What type of warranties are offered?
The following pages of this web site contain the numerous steps your River Oaks Pools design consultant follows to make sure that you will receive a unique and completely custom-designed poolscape for years of beauty and use.
